Prayer to Saint Monica

As we recite the Prayer to St. Monica for Children to Return to the Faith, it is good to remind ourselves that Saint Monica was the mother of St. Augustine. She fervently prayed for the conversion of her son, and after 17 years of prayer St. Augustine eventually converted to Christianity. St. Augustine was a theologian and philosopher. He wrote many important works and he is recognized as a Doctor of the Church. St. Monica is the Patron Saint of mothers, married women, difficult marriages and wayward children.
